Sequoyah High School is the best school i have ever been to. I love the teachers and the students. With the smaller classes we have more one on one time with the teachers and its easier to get help. Its also easier to have a relationship with the teachers and have someone you can count on. I know that no matter what happened i could go to anyone in this school and they would be there. I never have to worry about anything, everyone here is close. It is so diverse and we have a chance to meet more people from around the county than just the Soddy Daisy people. I love my school and I always will :)
I myself did not attend Sequoyah, but I am very impressed with the options available to the students. I wish more high schools would take note and try some of the options offered at Sequoyah. I love the vocational trades that each and every student can take part of, its not just the elite students that are allowed to take the "fun courses" all students can. I also love that with the skills the students are learning in these vocational classes can prepare them for a job right out of high school, college is not attainable for everyone... so students need to be prepared for some skill or career out of high school. I also love the flexible schedule students are offered, they can complete their high school years in less than 4 or they can stay through 5 years. They can take early classes and get more credits out of the way to complete the requirements quicker. I also like the fact that students have to apply to attend Sequoyah, it helps a lot of the kids who would not appreciate what is offered to them not end up there. And the smallness of it is also another very good thing for students as well. Sequoyah is a great thing! Keep it Up!
Homophobia is so Middle America. But your smart gay students will get out and move to real America, and we'll be thrilled to have them.
